Review

Frances Taylor

After writing books and appearing in several documentaries and podcasts, Amanda Knox now adapts her story for this controversial eight-part drama on which she serves as a “creative partner” and executive producer (alongside, interestingly, Monica Lewinsky).

We meet Knox (Grace Van Patten) in 2007 as a 20-year-old American arriving in Perugia, Italy, to study. She moves into a shared house that includes British student Meredith Kercher. Only a few months later, Kercher is murdered. What happened next became one of the most notorious true crime cases in modern times.

Incidentally, Kercher’s family have not been involved in this drama and when filming began last year, her sister said: “Our family has been through so much and it is difficult to understand how this serves any purpose.”
