Grand Final 2026

Summary

Victoria Swarovski and Michael Ostrowski present the 70th song contest from the Wiener Stadthalle arena in Vienna, where the 20 acts that made it through the semi-finals, plus the host nation and the pre-qualified 'big four' - Italy, Germany, France and the UK - will be taking the stage in the hope of winning over the judges and the voters at home. Graham Norton will be providing his usual commentary, and representing the UK is electro act Look Mum No Computer, hoping to avoid nul points with his song Eins, Zwei, Drei

Review

Frances Taylor

When it comes to Eurovision, burblings of anti-UK sentiment have rumbled on; notably in the near-three decade desert that’s stretched since Katrina and the Waves won in 1997.

So, when it came to selecting our entry this year, the thinking must’ve gone something along the lines of: “Let’s lean into the UK being a rubbish place! That’ll win over Europe!” It’d go some way to explain Look Mum No Computer’s Euro-poppy electro anthem Eins, Zwei, Drei, which is about escaping to the continent; its lyrics including “Counting in English doesn’t cut the mustard / So sick of munchin’ roly poly with custard.” It’s a song that’s Eurovision-y enough to – hopefully – stave off the dreaded nul points, but bookies’ favourites Finland will be tough to beat.

There are some already-famous faces competing: Boy George popped up in the semi-finals for San Marino (who ultimately failed to qualify), while former Neighbours star Delta Goodrem is representing Australia. Organisers of this 70th contest will no doubt be banking on some positive distractions. Amid the evening’s usual eclecticism and eccentricities – presided over in the commentary box by Graham Norton – there’s a more politically-charged-than-usual cloud hanging over the evening in Austria. A prominent cohort of countries (Slovenia, the Netherlands, Iceland, Spain and Ireland) have boycotted the contest this year over Israel’s participation.
