Jack Whitehall returns to front the UK record industry’s annual self-congratulatory shindig for the fifth time, having last hosted back in 2021. He’s become a father since then, so he’ll be disappointed at the lack of nominations for the Wiggles or Nick Cope’s Popcast. Instead, Charli XCX leads the pack with nods in five categories, followed, with four, by Dua Lipa, Ezra Collective and the Last Dinner Party. All the above are up for album of the year, while Charli XCX and Dua Lipa are also shortlisted for song of the year, where they’re up against the likes of Ella Henderson, KSI, Chase & Status and, er, the Beatles (for Now and Then).

The night, though, will be more about the live performances, with American superstar Sabrina Carpenter likely to be the most talked about. Among others taking to the stage are Shaboozey, former Little Mix member Jade, Sam Fender, and the biggest pop phenomenon of 2025 so far: British singer/songwriter Lola Young, whose song Messy has been the soundtrack to a million Instagram reels and TikToks.
