Review

Sarah Doran

Before concluding in 2015, Downton was the jewel in ITV’s Sunday-night tiara, captivating audiences around the world. The Crawley family and their servants became household names as we followed their struggles to meet the challenges of a changing world, find love, and transport dead bodies from one bedroom to another in the middle of the night to avoid scandal. As one does. Who could say no to such a delicious serving of soap-opera melodrama with a stiff upper lip?
