Review
Gary Rose
The latest edition of the themed music strand. Music-buyers do love a break-up tune (Sinéad O’Connor and Whitney Houston spring immediately to mind), although surely the most upsetting songs are to be found in feature-length animations. Bright Eyes by Art Garfunkel, for example, traumatised the youth of the late 1970s and hit the top of the UK charts.
With the weather lately, perhaps this selection should have been titled Seasonal Affective Disorder Songs at the BBC. But if all this hankie-filling risks derailing your Saturday-night vibe, fear not: the second volume of Dusty Springfield numbers following at 9.10pm (not Wales) will help to dry your eyes.
