Kevin Sinfield’s fundraising feats have become the stuff of legend. As this profile reminds us, the rugby league star once ran seven marathons in seven days, raising more than £2 million. A year later, he covered an almost unbelievable 101 miles in 24 hours. Further endurance challenges followed, between them raising over £13 million for Motor Neurone Disease charities. His inspiration was his friend and Leeds Rhinos team-mate Rob Burrow, who died from MND in 2024. This year, Sinfield was knighted, only the second rugby league player ever to receive the honour. Prince William and former England rugby union captain Lewis Moody, himself a sufferer of MND, are among those reflecting here on his superhuman efforts.
