Episode 21: Week 11 2024 Musicals Special

Summary

The professionals open the show with a routine from Little Shop of Horrors, which can only mean one thing - it's musicals week. Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman present as the contestants take to the floor with performances inspired by the world of musical theatre, eager to make it through to the semi-final. Judging their efforts are Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke

Review

Jane Rackham

Grumblings about the judges’ erratic marking continues, although at this point it’s not simply personality and “joyous” performances keeping the remaining dancers on the dancefloor.

The milestone of Blackpool, with its extra dancers, ambitious sets (a ketchup bottle? Really?) and extraordinary costumes (has designer Vicky Gill bought a job lot of colourful PVC this year?)
is a distant memory because all eyes are firmly set on the final.

First, though, it’s Musicals Week — time for more PVC outfits? — which in the past has resulted in several perfect scores. But who will be Footloose and which couple will be Les Misérables?
