Review

Based on the Elin Hilderbrand beach read, this drama is a shameless summer indulgence, with a fine cast. Jennifer Garner plays Hollis, a comfortable food blogger who gathers her friends on the luxurious Massachusetts island of Nantucket – if they stay long enough, they might bump into Nicole Kidman and the cast of The Perfect Couple – to process the death of her husband.

The catch is that the pals, played by Gemma Chan, Regina Hall, D’Arcy Carden and Chloe Sevigny, are from different phases of their host’s life, so they don’t know each other. It soon turns out that each woman has something of their own they have to work through, or a secret they’re trying to keep.
