The release in cinemas of the highly controversial biopic Michael has prompted a wave of documentaries about the singer facing accusations of child molestation. This one digs up footage of his 2005 trial, which became an out-of-control media circus. After fans besieged the courtroom and lawyers made colourful arguments on both sides, the jurors in the case ultimately moved to acquit the superstar.

Some of them are interviewed here, trying to explain what many observers saw as leniency offered to a defendant who was leveraging his wealth and fame. We also hear from people involved in proceedings who remain sure of Jackson’s guilt.
