Review
Jack Seale
A true-life drama that claims to be about “one of the most iconic couples of the 20th century”, which might be pushing it a bit — but for the brief period between their marriage in 1996 and their death in a plane crash in 1999, President’s son John Kennedy Jr and fashion executive Carolyn Bessette were the nearest thing the US media had to royal spouses. They’re played by Paul Anthony Kelly and Sarah Pidgeon here in a nine-part saga that’s set to be the first of many in a romance-themed anthology.
The supporting cast is promising: Naomi Watts plays Jackie Kennedy Onassis, with Alessandro Nivola as Bessette’s employer, Calvin Klein.
