It’s worth the price of admission for this finale just seeing the great Christopher Walken stroll into a Bristol boozer and order a mai tai. Later we see him on the karaoke floor singing a Pussycat Dolls song.

There are not things you expect from Walken. But he has been brilliant throughout – as has everyone else in the cast, which let’s hope can be reassembled: Stephen Merchant’s saga of crime and punishment with a Brizzle accent feels like it has plenty of gas in its tank yet.

For now, though, it has to address problems facing the gang of community payback wastrels and their supervisor, Diane, which mainly involve escaping the heavies of the Brook Hill Crew, still after their drug money. As usual, there are hints of sharp sadness amid the (often excellent) jokes and under it all, real warmth. Look out for the Banksy, by the way: it’s genuine.
