Summary

Gabby and Greg go cap-in-hand to a possible financier for the festival - her own father. Meanwhile, Diane reveals a murky past, and attempting to lay her own to rest, Myrna reaches out to family. John recruits Frank to help him impress his father, Tom discovers something which threatens his grandad's newfound domestic bliss, and Rani tries to recruit some help for an audacious break-in. Richard E Grant guest stars

Review

David Butcher

This excellent comedy thriller clearly has daddy issues. Rani’s father is an angry plumber who confiscates her phone. John’s businessman dad despises and bullies him. And now we get to meet Gaby’s father – the Earl of Gloucestershire, no less. It won’t surprise you that he’s a nasty piece of work, although initially, the fact he’s played by Richard E Grant makes us wonder for a moment if he will be an aristocratic charmer. Nope.

All these domineering parents help spell out the logic of the characters – why they’re all scared, confused and liable to make dodgy choices. Meanwhile, it looks like Frank (Christopher Walken) – yet another dubious dad – might have been rumbled
