Summary
Young girls across Britain are being groomed, trafficked and sexually exploited by organised drug gangs. The authorities have been warned repeatedly, yet the same failures continue. Through the testimony of survivors, whistleblowers and those who raised the alarm, this programme investigates why this exploitation has been allowed to continue for over two decades

David Butcher
This film brings together shocking accounts of the widespread exploitation and abuse of young girls over decades. For clarity, this is a separate scandal from the grooming gangs in towns such as Rotherham and Rochdale: it’s a broader story of teenage girls all across Britain, many aged 13 or 14, being sexually and criminally exploited by drug gangs.
Annie tells how she was groomed and raped by older boys from a crime gang in south London. Christine from Coventry agreed to a date at Nando’s with a 23-year-old and was forced into sleeping with his gang associates. Aged 13, May went drinking with local lads who drugged and raped her. In each case, the girls report the shame (“I just felt an awful person”) and denial (“I didn’t want to accept that I’d been abused”) that followed, while campaigners show that their stories are part of a bigger, disturbing picture.
