Talk of a 24 revival is often in the air, with star Kiefer Sutherland recently commenting that a storyline idea had met with his approval. But nostalgic look-backs can be fraught. While the show’s real-time format remains thrilling, aspects of the original series (action man Jack Bauer’s disregard for human rights; the frequent troubling depiction of Muslim characters; the overt conservative leanings) now jar.
Come to think of it, a comeback would probably go down a storm in Trump’s America.
