Summary
In this three-part series Robson Green travels through the Amazon rainforest, exploring the environment, species and culture that live within the wilderness of forest. In Alter do Chao, the gateway to the rainforest, Robson takes a route to the very top of the tree canopy and takes in the view, giving him perspective on how vast and important this ecosystem is

There are quite a few travelogue series popping up on Channel 5 these days. And while they’re generally fun to watch, the lack of an original, overarching theme can make them feel like glorified press trips, with excursions laid on by the local tourist board, rather than gritty journalism.
And that’s somewhat the case with this colourful series, which opens with our Robson ambling across golden sand, hanging out with parrots in the forest canopy and accusing a sloth of doing tai chi at a sanctuary. But it’s the fish market in Manaus that gets the acting angler’s juices flowing. His face lights up like a pirate opening a chest of doubloons.
It’s an entertaining ride, but those hoping to see Green hacking sweatily through the undergrowth and wrestling anacondas might feel short-changed.
