Summary

A cheating spouse gets a bigger serving of just desserts than anyone imagined in a darkly humorous New Zealand drama written and created by Hannah Marshall and David de Lautour. Disillusioned suburban mother Mia (Melissa George) wonders when her life suddenly lost its spark. At her lowest ebb, she discovers some women's underwear and concludes that her husband Gerry must be having an affair. She joins forces with old high school friend Oscar (Dean O'Gorman), who claims to be a private investigator, to scare Gerry into staying faithful. The plan spirals wildly out of control and Mia is dragged kicking and screaming in to the criminal underworld, where she must bend the law beyond repair to protect her family. Aided by Oscar, Mia looks for a way to safely navigate the retribution of the criminal cartel and avoid attracting the attention of the cops

The last few years have seen a surge in Australian imports on British screens, but New Zealand television remains a rarer treat. In this dry six-part crime caper, Melissa George plays Mia, a suburban mother who suspects that her husband may be having an affair.

Frustrated with playing it safe, she enlists an amateur PI to help scare him into staying faithful. The scheme, however, soon spirals out of control. For not only is there no affair, but Mia’s husband is tangled up in a criminal conspiracy – and the gangsters involved are none too pleased.
