Paraguay v France

Summary

Paraguay v France (Kick-off 10.00pm). Coverage of the second round-of-16 match, which takes place at Philadelphia Stadium in the USA. The South Americans caused an upset in the last round, providing a defensive masterclass to edge past Germany in a dramatic penalty shootout, following a 1-1 draw. They'll need a similarly heroic display here against France, who are the tournament favourites, bang in form and awash with attacking talent

World Cup favourites France will hope to avoid becoming Paraguay’s latest victim when they meet in the round of 16. The South American nation knocked out Germany on penalties in the last-32 stage and now take aim at one of the tournament favourites.

Les Bleus’ attacking talent have, quite simply, been in electric form in North America and make Didier Deschamps’s side the hot favourites to progress.
