James Acaster shot to TV cult fame with his chaotic 2019 appearance on The Great Celebrity Bake Off when he memorably told the judges: “Started making it. Had a breakdown. Bon appetit.” Recorded in his home town of Kettering, this HBO special sees him make a pact with the audience to embrace any interruptions. Cue loo trips, phone calls and freewheeling fun. As he’s forced to deviate from his carefully crafted set, the results are electrifying and hilarious. Bon appetit, indeed.
