Matt Shea explores the world of crypto currency, blockchain-driven revolutions and libertarian nations all promoted by super-rich people who have tired of regulation, taxation and accountability. Key figures include Justin Sun (a heavily PR-d oddball who shrugged off fraud charges when Trump retook office), Tim Draper (who runs a Dragons’ Den-style university) and Curtis Yarvin, who prefers the idea of an “accountable monarchy” over elected government. Shea does a fine job of explaining the jargon and why it all matters, while exposing the missing clothes of our new would-be emperors.
