Review

Jane Rackham

Gordon Buchanan saddles up to roam Canada’s Rocky Mountains in search of wild horses to learn how they behave and survive. “I want to walk with them as if I was a horse — join the herd,” he says. But they are unpredictable animals and might easily attack him or, more likely, his horse Diego.

He’s dumbfounded when his first cautious encounter spooks some muscular stallions, who go from relaxed to full gallop in an instant. This is not going to be easy, but Gordon has been emotionally tuned in to horses since he was a child… and he’s a very patient man.
