Episode 5: Episode 5

Summary

DCI Roz Huntley struggles to allay her husband's suspicions and AC-12 find a new angle to pursue their case against her in the penultimate episode of Jed Mercurio's police drama

Review

Alison Graham

Goodness me, this is exhausting. Week after week, writer Jed Mercurio kicks us on the ankles, hits us with rolled-up newspapers then gives us a final slap around the ears because we must pay attention.

The penultimate episode delivers one hefty “I didn’t see that coming” shock after another as “Super” Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar) rallies his team. But first he meets that weaselly assistant chief constable for a chat: “There’s an institutional failure to admit error here!”

Meanwhile, the Very Bad Woman Roz Huntley looks sweaty and green around the gills, not just from guilt. And a word to the wise. Not familiar with previous series? Then start swotting.
