Review

Jack Seale

There’s a jolting dissonance as we embark on this new thriller: it’s about a Christian cult, set in the UK and an opening caption informs us that there are many such organisations in modern Britain.

We arrive somewhere in the English countryside, where “Mr Phillips” (Christopher Eccleston) runs a commune in which mobile phones are banned and gender norms are enforced. When a traumatic incident rocks parents Adam and Rosie (Asa Butterfield and Molly Windsor), their meeting with a stranger (Fra Fee) changes the flock’s dynamic for ever.
