This second feature-length outing for MTV's sniggering, sex-obsessed cartoon dweebs, whose original run aired between 1993-97, kicked off a successful TV reboot. The film opens in 1998, with Beavis and Butt-Head (both voiced by creator Mike Judge) sent to space camp at Nasa. After a succession of misunderstandings, the two morons are flung into a black hole. Tumbling out again in 2022, they set off to find their astronaut commander (Andrea Savage). They think she's their first chance at "scoring" with a woman; actually, she just wants them dead. Don't expect any character growth here: Beavis and Butt-Head are just as brainless and moronic as they were in their heyday, giggling over words such as "hole" or "hard". They're so stupid that they barely even notice they're in the future, so there's not much culture clash, either. But even 30 years after their inception, there's still something endearing about these humble nitwits. As they blunder from crisis to crisis, stopping only to kick each other in the 'nads, their gurning idiocy proves oddly comforting for the longtime fan - although probably won't win any new converts.
