Tom Hutchinson

Somnolent cartoon musical since put to sleep by the two Toy Story films, about toys coming to life when their owners are away. Hailed as the adventures of "America's Favourite Dolls" and directed by Richard Williams, with the voices of Didi Conn and Mark Baker, it succumbs to some songs - written by Joe Raposo - which stultify the action even more. The characters have appeal but no story to tell that will interest children above the age of five.
