Rosie Fletcher

A bad-ass cop and his "dog doctor" rival must unite to track down the kidnapped ex-wife of the former, who is now married to the latter, in this South Korean action comedy. It's raucous and slapstick and frequently very funny as officer Hwang Choong-sik (Jin Seon-kyu) and vet Lee Min-seok (Gong Myoung) are pitted against an old-school drug lord (Yoon Kyung-ho) and a disrespectful upstart gangster (Kim Ji-seok) as they bicker their way through this elaborate rescue operation. The dialogue is snappy and director Park Gyu-tae offers some decent action set pieces, including a great bit of stunt driving to avoid hitting a cat, and a very amusing (but actually pretty cunning) way of avoiding suffocation by plastic bag that involves the titular husbands shoving their feet into each other's mouths. Nor is this movie above fart jokes, and even fart-joke callbacks. All in all, this is much better than it looks at first glance - sweet, well performed, slick, pacey and silly in equal measures.
