Review
A star rating of 3 out of 5.
John Ferguson
At one time, Jon Cryer seemed destined for big things, but he has never really reached the same heights as Pretty in Pink in recent years. Nevertheless, he is as engaging as ever in this blackly comic mystery about an employee of a small-town paper who gets his big break as a journalist following a series of killings in the area. Cryer is well served by an exemplary supporting cast that includes Edward Asner, Jennifer Tilly and Roddy McDowall. However, director Paul Shapiro fails to make the most of the gruesome material.
