In this very funny spoof of the Dracula legend, George Hamilton plays the uprooted, undead count, who's trying to adjust to life in the modern Big Apple. Former MGM heart-throb Hamilton camps it up delightfully as he clumsily romances fashion model Susan Saint James, much to the chagrin of her psychiatrist lover, Richard Benjamin, who gets his vampire lore amusingly scrambled when he tries to intervene. Classic "fish out of water" sequences include the disruption of a Harlem family's mealtime, a midnight raid on a blood bank and some hypnotic disco dancing. The fast and furious fun is superbly scripted by Robert Kaufman and wonderfully pulled together by director Stan Dragoti.
