This fourth and final entry in Ryan Little's Saints and Soldiers series of Second World War films does the job, despite being a cut-price Dirty Dozen knock-off. Having been demoted for failing to follow field orders, Lieutenant Luke Goss is teamed with French Legionnaire Dolph Lundgren to train a maverick crew for a dangerous mission behind German lines. Their target, as a cameoing Mickey Rourke informs them, is a high-powered howitzer with the capability of hitting Paris and London. But this proves hardly more than a MacGuffin, as Little keeps his focus on crass, one-sided combat sequences that become even more preposterous during a climactic rescue bid. Goss and Lundgren are solid enough as clichéd but credible characters with basic backstories. Unfortunately, the sloppy script tells us nothing about the individual "War Pigs" or how this troublesome cabal earned its reputation, and Little's gung-ho direction eventually fritters away much of his film's early tension.
