Oasis's 2025 world tour viscerally comes to life in this surprisingly sentimental documentary. Tracing the reunion of brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher nearly 16 years after their acrimonious split, Don't Look Back in Anger does as the title suggests, with little interest in exploring any festering wounds between the famously fractious siblings, although the pair are interviewed together on screen. Instead, directors Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace (who previously made Blur reunion doc No Distance Left to Run) simply let the songs speak for themselves, as they follow the revived band from rehearsals to the first gig in Cardiff and onward, taking the music to fans around the globe. It's this notion, rather than a tour catalogue, that drives the rest of the movie, as the film-makers dig into Oasis fandom. Some of these sequences, such as one following a young woman who survived the Ariana Grande Manchester concert bombing in 2017, prove touching; others, like one that sees two Korean girls going diving, feel rather random. But while not particularly incisive or likely to draw in new fans, this does a fine job in showing the healing power of music. And if you're even slightly into Oasis, several performances here are real lump-in-the-throat stuff.
