Golf is a more collegiate sport than most, with the majority of fans simply enjoying the contest rather than siding for or against particular players — but at last year’s US Masters, almost everyone was rooting for Rory McIlroy.

The popular Northern Irishman needed this tournament to complete a historic career grand slam of all four major championships, having won the other three more than a decade previously. He achieved his dream after an extraordinary final day that saw him play some of the best — and worst — golf of his life.

McIlroy himself is the main interviewee in an emotional documentary about what he did and what it meant.
