A runaway train sets a brisk pace for this derivative but diverting children's animated caper. The hero is good-hearted thief Falcon (voiced by Wyatt Bowen), a raccoon engineering a train heist to help keep his hungry animal pals fed over Christmas. However, badger-with-a-beef Hans (Chimwemwe Miller) hijacks the train's controls, sending the vehicle and its animal passengers hurtling towards potential doom. The sheer number of creatures on board leaves the film somewhat overcrowded, and the character animation can be simplistic and over-familiar. But the script milks plenty of amiable humour from its spread of bohemian bunnies, gruff cop dogs, sugar-craving chihuahuas and more, while directors Benoît Daffis and Jean-Christian Tassy whip up some lively action set-pieces and ensure more of the gags land - cringey rap interlude aside - than not. Alongside playful nods to Die Hard and witty parodies of disaster-chasing reportage, the result mixes fast-moving fun and train-based peril with breezy charm.
