Estranged former lovers are thrown together by misfortune en route to a mutual pal's island wedding in this Swedish-made, English-language thriller. Getting to the celebrations on time entails a three-person plane ride across a stretch of the Indian Ocean from Mauritius, which brings peril when the pilot takes ill mid-flight. This contrived offering is exactly the sort of movie where co-star Allison Williams's character just happens to have had a few flying lessons in the past, but complications mount, forcing her and disgruntled ex Jackson (Alexander Dreymon) to pull together or perish in the briny. A distinct lack of chemistry between the two leads rather limits our investment in their up-and-down relationship, while the workaday CGI ensures much of the action remains resolutely studio-bound. Stalwart Hollywood character actor Keith David (The Thing) brings some charisma to the proceedings as the ill-fated fellow flyer, but otherwise this is seriously low on adrenaline, dismayingly high on knuckle-gnawing idiocy.
