Fans of 1980's Flash Gordon will lap up this enjoyable, celebratory documentary about the making, release and aftermath of the film. Much of it focuses on Sam J Jones, the actor who disappeared into relative obscurity after playing Flash. His former co-stars (including Brian Blessed and Peter Wyngarde) share their own memories of shooting the film, while a string of famous interviewees - such as Robert Rodriguez and comics artist Alex Ross - discuss what Flash means to them. There aren't many surprises or shock revelations here, but some of the anecdotes are amusing, while Jones is charming, enthusiastic and honest about the ups and downs of his life after starring in one of cinema's defining cult favourites.
