Action stars Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren star in a late-career team-up, shooting, punching and kicking their way through bad guys on a submarine. Van Damme plays a CIA agent who wakes up imprisoned in a clandestine state detention centre on a nuclear submarine, accused of having turned traitor. Lundgren is an oddly sanguine German Special Forces agent in the next cell. Before long, they're both free, trying to blow open a far-reaching conspiracy by shooting as many corrupt CIA bosses and gun-toting goons as possible. Lundgren is the most fun thing in this cinematic migraine, but he spends far too much time on the sidelines. Overall, it's cheap but far from cheerful, with a minimum of contrived plot giving way to dull, repetitive action scenes staged in unconvincing sets.
