Alan Jones

A newlywed learns that marrying into old money can be fatal when she's forced to play a ritual game with her grotesquely wealthy in-laws on the eve of her honeymoon. Hide and seek is chosen at random, but unfortunately for Samara Weaving's unsuspecting bride, if you're found in this version, you're sacrificed. With severed tongue planted firmly in bruised cheek, this slick upgrade of The Most Dangerous Game is a witty, wacky and splattery affair that gives class war the bloodiest of noses. It's directed with sparkle and élan by Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin (two-thirds of the film-making collective Radio Silence), who know exactly what inventive twists to take with their cat-and-mouse thrill-fest. New Scream Queen on the chopping block Samara Weaving (niece of Hugo) holds the murderous aristocratic mayhem together, while Andie MacDowell and company prove good sports by entering into the filthy-rich and gory spirit of the rigorous gross-outs.
