IMDB

Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

David Parkinson

Sidney J Furie has always been an effective director and his steady handling of this courtroom thriller just about keeps it from collapsing under the weight of its clichés and contrivances. When deaf artist Marlee Matlin asks lawyer Michael Dudikoff to help her secure a divorce from her abusive millionaire husband, it's not long before they become lovers. But, after Dudikoff kills the husband in self-defence and Matlin is arrested for the crime, he is entrusted with getting her off without implicating himself. It's watchable and proficiently done, though predictable throughout.
