Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

John Ferguson

Director Guy Manos is a former skydiving world champion, so unsurprisingly the aerial sequences on show here are absolutely stunning. Unfortunately, as a writer (he co-scripted this with brother Greg) he's very average indeed. The lazy plot sees Stephen Baldwin going undercover with a champion skydiving team whose members he suspects of drug-running. However, that is little more than an appendage as Manos is more interested in the skydiving itself, so the result is an uncomfortable mixture of sporting movie clichés and psycho-babble. There's also a rather dubious subtext suggesting that the ends justify the means, as they continually point out skydiving is an expensive sport. That said, this exhilarating pastime has probably never been caught better on film, so just fast-forward through to the sport sequences.
