A bored-looking John Travolta goes through the motions in this predictable heist caper. He plays easy-going professional thief Mason Goddard, head of a crack team whose latest bank robbery quickly devolves into chaos. The FBI are on the case within minutes, forcing Mason and crew into an unplanned hostage situation, while the gang has also angered a notorious crime lord. Sex and the City star Kristin Davis is largely wasted as the agent sent in to negotiate, her past relationship with Mason robbing her character of authenticity. Director Randall Emmett pulls off some pleasing visual slickness, but he also overuses zippy, high-speed drone shots, which start to distract from the action. At least he's trying to inject energy into this tired tale, though, which is more than its obvious twists and tedious dialogue can manage.
