Thriller starring Marina Foïs and Denis Ménochet. Olga and Antoine move from their native France to a small village in the Galician countryside. There's some extraordinary bloody mindedness on display in this powerful thriller from Spanish director Rodrigo Sorogoyen (The Realm). Unfolding in the gorgeous Galician countryside, it follows a French couple (played by Denis Ménochet and Marina Foïs) who have happily settled in the area, and spend their days tending crops and renovating local properties. However, a feud with a pair of embittered Spanish brothers (Luis Zahera and Diego Anido) from the neighbouring farm threatens to spill over into violence. Inspired by actual events, the film feels impressively earthy and authentic. Ménochet is a hulking, aggrieved presence, and the hatred his character comes up against is fierce - fuelled by xenophobia, jealousy and a genuine grievance relating to a proposed wind farm. There's no mystery as to just who is doing the menacing, and yet the film effectively ramps up the tension, with a creeping sense that things could turn ugly at any time.
