Jack Seale

If only all true-crime documentaries were this gripping. The case concerns an event that shocked Orkney and the whole of the UK in 1994: in a place where murder and serious crime were and are rare, a masked man entered a Bangladeshi-run restaurant in Kirkwall and gunned down waiter Shamsuddin Mahmood. Was it a race-hate crime, a contract killing or something else?

The engrossing drama of the case itself is balanced by concern for the victim, for the witnesses and for the effect an unbelievable sequence of events has had on a normally laid-back community.
