The soap alumni will be taking on the lead roles of Vivian and Edward when the show returns to the New Wimbledon Theatre in March 2027.
The production is set to hit 19 venues next year finishing up in Aberdeen in October.
Rainford is best known for playing Albert Square's Anna Knight, a member of the Knight family who took over the running of the Queen Vic in June 2023.
She left the soap in December 2025 after her character went travelling with her long-time love interest, Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier). This new role, formerly played by Julia Roberts in the hit movie, will mark Rainford's stage debut.

Molly Rainford (Vivian Ward) and Danny Walters (Edward Lewis).
Walters meanwhile played Keanu Taylor, who was killed off in the epic "The Six" storyline, which played out in Christmas 2023. He later appeared in a few of Denise's hallucinations in 2024, but has not returned since.
The two will be joined Bernadette Bangura as Vivian's friend Kit, who recently starred as Becky in the UK and Ireland tour of Waitress. Other cast members include Tomas Wolstenholme as Philip Stuckey and Sario Solomon as David Morse.
The Pretty Woman musical follows the same story as the beloved 1990 film – a sex worker, Vivian, is hired by Edward, a rich entrepreneur, to accompany him during a week of work and social events, the two end up forming a connection and ultimately fall in love before the week is out.
Featuring a score by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, the musical version last toured from 2023 to 2024, but already it's back for another run. Here's the details.
