In Adam Richman Eats Football, the US foodie known for taking on grotesque food challenges in Man v Food, travels around Britain to sample dishes close to a team’s grounds. “Gone are the days of the questionable hamburger,” says senior producer Amy-Lou Rowledge (below), who finds locations, guests and good eats for the series.
Starters
I used to work in a pub and a lady in there asked me to do a recce for a programme. I’ve been in the industry for 14 years, working in food television for seven. I’ve worked with the Hairy Bikers and on Great British Menu.I love food in any way, shape or form. I’m a feeder!
Genuine Grub
I have a little book of chefs and a food Instagram account. For this, we reached out to football fans. Some people’s matchday tradition is McDonald’s but we weren’t going there! I met a fan who must have a salt beef bagel when his team are playing — and if he doesn’t and his team lose, it’s his fault.
Healthy Appetite
It all starts with a phone call to the chef to find out more about them — how long they’ve been cooking for, how long they’ve been making a particular dish and had it on the menu. We then recce these places.
Trust Your Gut…
If I try something I’ve never had before, or it reminds me of something my Nana used to cook, it makes me go, “People need to know about this.” We don’t normally have chefs make something bespoke; it’s what’s on their menu so people can go in and say, “We saw Adam Richman talking about this, can we try it?”

Favourite Foods
This series, we feature Mollis in Nottingham, which does delicious chicken sandwiches. The founder, Alex Bond, also has a Michelin-starred restaurant, Alchemilla, next door! Tottenham’s Prestige Patisserie does an insane Medovik cake, made using burnt honey and sour cream.
