MOTD Live: FIFA World Cup 2026 | Czechia v South Africa
2026
Sport
Czechia v South Africa (Kick-off 5.00pm). Mark Chapman presents coverage of the Group A match at Atlanta Stadium in the USA. Czechia have only appeared at one previous World Cup finals since Czechoslovakia was dissolved in 1992, that being the 2006 tournament in Germany. They got off to a disappointing on their return to this stage when they were defeated 2-1 by South Korea in their opener. The Bafana Bafana also lost their first match, going down to nine men in a 2-0 defeat at the hands of co-hosts Mexico. They will now look to draw from their experience of having competed at a major tournament just six months ago at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where they progressed from a group that also contained Egypt, Angola and Zimbabwe, before being eliminated by Cameroon in the last-16. WIth analysis from Ashley Williams, Thomas Frank and Benni McCarthy

FIFA World Cup 2026 | Switzerland v Bosnia and Herzegovina
Sport
Switzerland v Bosnia and Herzegovina (Kick-off 8.00pm). Laura Woods presents coverage of the Group B match at Los Angeles Stadium in Inglewood, USA. The Swiss won two of their three group matches in Qatar four years ago, overcoming both Cameroon and Serbia as they finished second to Brazil on account of their loss to the South Americans, but they then suffered a heavy 6-1 loss to Portugal in the last-16. The Bosnians failed to progress from the group stage at their only previous finals in Brazil in 2014, when a 3-1 victory over Iran in their final group game proved to be too little, too late after suffering losses to Argentina and Nigeria. This time around both teams have started their campaign with 1-1 draws, with the Swiss containing a late equaliser against the run of play to group underdogs Qatar, and their opponents sharing the spoils with co-hosts Canada. With analysis from Patrick Vieira, Karen Carney and Juan Mata, and commentary by Joe Speight and Lucy Ward

FIFA World Cup 2026 | Canada v Qatar
Sport
Canada v Qatar (Kick-off 11.00pm). Laura Woods presents coverage of the Group B match at BC Place Vancouver in Canada. There has only ever been one previous meeting between these nations, a 2022 friendly match in Vienna that saw just 150 people in attendance as Canada claimed a 2-0 victory. There will doubtless be many more to witness tonight's clash in an arena that boasts a capacity in excess of 54,000, with the vast majority of those supporting the co-hosts. Both teams are yet to win a match in the World Cup finals, but they avoided defeat in their openers, with Canada drawing 1-1 with Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Qataris' match against Switzerland also ending 1-1. With analysis from Emma Hayes, Bradley Wright-Phillips and Ange Postecoglou, and commentary by Seb Hutchinson and Andros Townsend

MOTD Live: FIFA World Cup 2026 | Mexico v South Korea
2026
Sport
Mexico v South Korea (Kick-off 2.00am). Coverage of the Group A match at Guadalajara Stadium in Mexico. Mexico opened the tournament with a relatively comfortable 2-0 win against South Africa, in a match that produced more red cards than goals, including one for Cesar Montes, which took a little of the shine off the victory. It's likely that the co-hosts will have a tougher challenge before them here, with Korea also on a high after picking up three points from their opener against Czechia, despite going a goal down in the second half
