FIFA World Cup 2026 | Episode 4
2026
Sport
Qatar v Switzerland (Kick-off 8.00pm). Mark Pougatch presents coverage of the Group B match at San Francisco Bay Area Stadium in Santa Clara, USA. Qatar have earned outright qualification for a World Cup for the first time in their history, having made their only previous appearance at the tournament when they served as hosts four years ago. They'll hope to improve on that showing, when they lost all three of their group games against Netherlands, Senegal and Ecuador, scoring just one goal against the Senegalese in the process. The Swiss reached their sixth consecutive finals and 13th overall by topping a qualification group that contained Kosovo, Slovenia and Sweden, winning four and drawing two of their matches, while scoring 14 goals and conceding just two. There has only ever been one previous meeting between these nations, and Qatar will hope to replicate the outcome of that friendly in 2018, in which they claimed a 1-0 victory. With analysis from Gary Neville, Ian Wright and Duncan Ferguson, and commentary by Sam Matterface and Lee Dixon

MOTD Live: FIFA World Cup 2026 | Brazil v Morocco 13.06
Sport
Brazil v Morocco (Kick-off 11.00pm). Kelly Cates presents coverage of the Group C match at New York/New Jersey Stadium in the USA. Brazil are perennial competitors at the World Cup, having appeared in all 22 previous stagings of the tournament, while their five victories in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, and 2002 are more than any other nation has achieved. However, they are far from the dominant force they once were and finished fifth in the CONMEBOL qualification with a record of eight wins, four draws and six losses from their 18 games. In contrast, Morocco finished with an unblemished record in their qualifying campaign, winning all eight matches, while scoring 22 goals and conceding just two. They come into this tournament on the back of a controversial appearance in the AFCON final just five months ago, when they lost 1-0 to Senegal in extra time after Senegal left the pitch and refused to return after conceding a penalty in the final minute of regulation time, which Morocco's Brahim Diaz then missed when the game eventually resumed. However, three months later the CAF Appeal Board ruled that Senegal had forfeited the final through their actions, awarding Morocco a 3-0 victory, subject to a ruling from the Court of Arbitration for Sport. MOTD Live: FIFA World Cup 2026 | Haiti v Scotland 14.06
2026
Sport
Haiti v Scotland (Kick-off 2.00am). Kelly Cates presents coverage of the Group C match at Boston Stadium in the USA. Scotland are appearing at a World Cup finals for the first time since France '98, and their eighth overall, having finished top of a qualifying group that contained Denmark, Greece and Belarus. This will be their first-ever meeting with Haiti, who had to come through two phases of qualification to reach the finals for the second time in their history, with the previous appearance being in 1974, in West Germany. They will hope to perform better than they did on that occasion, when they lost three from three and conceded 14 goals, so will welcome an opener against an opponent that has only won four World Cup finals matches in their history, the most recent of which was a 2-1 win over Sweden at Italia '90. With analysis from Joe Hart, Scott Brown and Rachel Corsie

FIFA World Cup 2026 | Australia v Türkiye
Sport
Australia v Türkiye (Kick-off 5.00am). Laura Woods presents coverage of the Group D match at BC Place Vancouver in Canada. The Socceroos are appearing at their sixth consecutive finals, and a seventh overall, and will hope to build on their experience in Qatar four years ago when they progressed to the knockout stage for just the second time. They faced European opposition twice in the group stage on that occasion and had mixed fortunes, beginning their campaign with a 4-1 loss to eventual runners-up France, before beating Denmark 1-0 in their final group match, which helped them to move on to a meeting with eventual winners Argentina. In contrast, Türkiye have only appeared in World Cup finals on two previous occasions, most recently in 2002 when the competition had co-hosts for the first time in Japan and South Korea, and they will hope to perform just as admirably as they did on that occasion when they reached the semi-finals and were beaten 1-0 by eventual champions Brazil. With analysis from Ange Postecoglou and Juan Mata, and commentary by Joe Speight and Lucy Ward
