FIFA World Cup 2026 | Episode 30
2026
Sport
Norway v France (Kick-off 8.00pm). All the action from the final match in Group I for both teams, held at Boston Stadium in the USA. This is the first meeting between the nations since 2014, when France prevailed 4-0 in a friendly. The French are likely to go into this fixture as favourites to win once again, but a closer contest is anticipated. Should they both be available, the game could see two of the world's leading forwards go head to head in Frenchman Kylian Mbappe and Norway's Erling Haaland, and it would be little surprise if either one of them proved to be the difference-maker this evening. Both teams have already progressed to the knock-out stages after winning both of their opening games, and France will finish top of the group if they avoid defeat here

FIFA World Cup 2026 | Senegal v Iraq
Sport
Senegal v Iraq (Kick-off 8.00pm). Coverage of both teams' concluding Group I match, held at Toronto Stadium in Canada. Having already faced two fancied teams in Norway and France, this contest may prove vital to both sides' chances of progressing. Senegal secured their passage into the knockout rounds four years ago with a 2-1 win against Ecuador in their final group game. Iraq, on the other hand, have never previously gone beyond the group stage, but with eight of the 12 third-placed teams going through to the last 32, they are likely to come into this encounter with a chance of doing so regardless of the results of their opening two matches. Both of these teams have lost their first two group games which means that whoever wins here will finish third in the group. Whoever finishes third may still have a chance of progressing to the knock-out stages, but will have to wait until all the group games are finished

FIFA World Cup 2026 | Episode 32

Sport
Uruguay v Spain (Kick-off 1.00am). Laura Woods presents coverage of the third and final match in Group H for both teams, held at Guadalajara Stadium in Mexico. These two came into the tournament as the favourites to progress to the knockout rounds, but even if both teams' progression is already guaranteed, they will be eager to make a statement against strong opposition and look to top the group. The nations last met in the group stage of the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, when first-half goals by Pedro and Roberto Soldado gave the Spaniards a 2-1 win. That was a match between the reigning European and South American champions at the time, and coming into this encounter Spain are European champions once more after they won that title two years ago, while Uruguay were third in the most recent Copa America held in the United States in 2024. Spain picked up a much-needed win in their last game against Saudi Arabia thanks to a 4-0 victory, a result that puts them top of the table going into this match. Uruguay were held by Cape Verde in a 2-2 draw in their previous match, but still stand second in the group at this point. With analysis from Gary Neville, Juan Mata and Ange Postecoglou

FIFA World Cup 2026 | Cape Verde v Saudi Arabia
Sport
Cape Verde v Saudi Arabia (Kick-off 1.00am). All the action from both teams' third and final Group H match, held at Houston Stadium in the USA. Uruguay and Spain were the two favourites to qualify from this group, but even if both of these sides have failed to collect a point so far, with eight of the 12 third-placed teams qualifying for the last 32, three points here could be enough to see either one of them progress. The only time the Saudis managed to reach the knockout stage was in 1994, when the United States served as hosts, while this is the first time Cape Verde have played in the finals. Both of these sides still have a chance of progressing to the knock-out stages and a victory here may well do the job. Cape Verde are currently third in the group with two points, while Saudi Arabia are bottom with one, but the result in the other game between Spain and Uruguay may affect what happens to these teams

MOTD Live: FIFA World Cup 2026 | New Zealand v Belgium
Sport
New Zealand v Belgium (Kick-off 4.00am). Group G reaches a climax at BC Place Vancouver in Canada, with this first-ever meeting between the nations. It's perhaps not surprising that this is a first encounter, as the All Whites have only reached the World Cup finals on two previous occasions, the first of which was a memorable campaign back in 1982, when they lost all three matches but still managed to play a part in Scotland being eliminated at the first hurdle once again. Belgium are unlikely to have as much attention focused on them this time than in recent years, when they were often tipped for success, but that may remove some of the pressure that has weighed so heavily on their shoulders. Both of these sides need a victory here to have any chance of progressing to the knock-out stages, with the top two in the group facing each other in the other group match taking place tonight. New Zealand find themselves bottom of Group G with one point, while Belgium are third after two successive draws

MOTD Live: FIFA World Cup 2026 | Egypt v Iran
2026
Sport
Egypt v Iran (Kick-off 4.00am). The sides conclude their Group G campaigns with this meeting at Seattle Stadium in the USA. The top two in this group will fancy their chances of further progress in the competition, with the winners playing one of the third-placed qualifiers, and the runners-up facing the second-placed team in Group D, which doesn't look the most challenging. These nations have only met twice - once in 1975 in the Iran Cup, and latterly back in 2000 in a Four Nations tournament in Tehran, that saw Egypt prevail on penalties. Both these sides are well placed to progress to the knock-out stages with Egypt leading the way with four points, while Iran are second thanks to two draws so far, although the other two teams in the group could also progress depending on results
