So here are some answers to the questions you'll be asking: what's on it? How much does it cost? And can you get it via other services too?

Well, this new streaming service will host many of the big US shows previously familiar to Sky and Now customers, such as Sex and the City, Game of Thrones and Succession. New programmes like The Seduction (starring Diane Kruger), sci-fi show Lanterns and the upcoming Harry Potter TV series, however, will only be available to stream on HBO Max.

The cost will range from £4.99 a month (with ads) up to £14.99 a month, while TNT Sports, which will now move from Discovery+ to HBO Max, costs £30.99 a month.

If you’re an existing Sky/Now customer, you may have access to HBO Max included in your TV package, while Amazon Prime Video users can add HBO Max to their subscription.
